Different Materials Determine The Rating Of Water Control Valve

There are different kinds of water valves available in the market. All these water valves are made up of many different types of materials. You can find a water valve made up of plastic, cast iron, brass, galvanized pipe, stainless steel, bronze, alloy steels and even gunmetal. These valves are used for different purposes and in different areas of application where flow of liquid and not only water needs to be regulated. The choice of material and type of water valve will entirely depend on its intended application. Therefore, you must know the purpose first and then select the valve according to your need.

Different Uses Of Valves:

When the Water Control Valve is used for seawater or for any type of salt water applications then the best and most suitable type to use is the duplex stainless steel valves. These valves have the unique corrosion resistant ability that makes it effective and long lasting. Similarly, when you want to use the valve for liquid Sulfuric acid then the Alloy 20 material is the best one to choose. On the other hand there are different types, sizes and shapes of plastic and PVC valves that are used extensively for different irrigation systems. These valves are also used in several other low pressure and low temperature applications as well.

Rating Of The Valves:

All valves including those meant for the Taps for kitchen & Bathrooms are rated according to the power of enduring the temperature and pressure inside the body. Another parameter of such rating is the type of material the valve can handle. A valve that is rated as 200 WOG, it means that it can handle Water, Oil or Gas or WOG that has a maximum pressure of 200 PSI. Some valves that are used for fire protection control must also be Underwriters Laboratories or UL listed.
